I am professor of international comparative public policy at the Geschwister-Scholl-Institute for Political Science, LMU Munich. Prior to taking up this position, I held posts in St Gallen, Florence, and Bremen (JUB, SOCIUM). I hold a PhD from the University of Essex and an MA from the University of Konstanz. I served as executive board member of the German Political Science Association (2018-2021) and its Political Economy Section (2015-2021) and represent political science in the German Data Forum (since 2020).

My substantive research interests lie at the intersection of international political economy, comparative politics, and public policy. My current research focuses on three main topics: the historical development of tax states around the world, support for green taxes, and gender discrimination in taxation. I am furthermore interested in research design, experiments, and quantitative methods.
